Joyful Eating: A Mindfulness Retreat

This unique retreat was designed specifically for The Hydro by Julie Deane-Williams ( who is a registered dietician with more than 20 years experience and is also a certified Mindfulness facilitator. She has a deep commitment to the full expression of female potential and a natural, empathetic manner that encourages openness and sharing. The retreat offers a confidential space for a maximum of 10 women, restoring balance and hope to anyone who experiences chronic issues with food. (No previous experience of Mindfulness is necessary.)

  • Would you like to cultivate more awareness (mindfulness) in your life?

Within the safety and support of a small group of women you will…

  • learn more about what motivates your current eating habits
  • discover how Mindfulness can enhance your life
  • begin to establish for yourself a healthy, sustainable relationship with food
  • find peace, tranquillity and self-acceptance through practising Mindfulness

  • Guided meditations will be available to all participants after the retreat via Dropbox.
  • All lecture notes and poems will be issued in manual form to each participant at the end of the retreat.

  • 4 days standard accommodation
  • All meals & Hydro facilities
  • Full four-day Retreat Programme (see above). Please note: no treatments are included. Participants may use their free time (15h30 – 18h00) each day to receive treatments of their own choice but these must be booked independently. Alternatively, you are welcome to remain at The Hydro for longer than the designated dates. To avoid disappointment, it is advisable to book these additional days prior to arrival.

One-Day Mindful Eating Retreat
What are we truly hungering for?

Julie Deane-Williams and Fathima Bux invite you to join them as they explore mindfulness, and what it means to pay attention here, now in this moment - without judgement. By cultivating the capacity to be present in our lives, we learn how to be interested, curious and compassionate to what is, as it unfolds. As we anchor ourselves in this present moment, tuned in to the wisdom that lies within; we will spend time reflecting on what causes women to fall victim to body wars, and become slaves to dieting and food obsession. We will also discuss skills that we can practice, so that we can create healthier relationships with food, eating our bodies and ourselves.
